Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Brings World-Class Martial Arts & Self-Defense Classes to Triangle Square
08.07.23
Triangle Square is set to host the highly anticipated grand opening of Carlson Gracie, a prestigious Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school, on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 am to 2 pm. As part of the celebration, visitors will have the opportunity to engage in casual training during an open mat session, where they can roll and spar with fellow students upon signing a waiver.
The first 50 students to enroll will enjoy an exclusive introductory rate of $150 per month (with no contract, and the freedom to cancel at any time), and they will also receive a complimentary gi, the traditional jiu-jitsu uniform. This special membership grants students access to unlimited classes and training sessions under the guidance of some of the world's top jiu-jitsu coaches. Additionally, all visitors who sign up at the open house will receive a complimentary class to experience the exceptional teaching firsthand.
The school takes pride in its accomplished instructors, including Misitano, who holds a brown belt and has devoted eight years to practicing jiu-jitsu exclusively under the Carlson Gracie lineage. Misitano's training under black belt Mark Daley in Chicago has culminated in numerous tournament victories, earning him prestigious titles such as NoGi Pan American Champion twice, Pan American Silver twice, National Champion five times, and a bronze award at Masters Worlds.
Diego Segura, a black belt for six years and business partner at Carlson Gracie Costa Mesa, adds to the expertise of the coaching team. Alongside Misitano, the school is also led by Dave Hudson, a black belt with 14 years of experience and close to two decades of teaching jiu-jitsu. Hudson's competitive background includes participation in the World Championships in Brazil in 2002, as well as numerous local and national tournament victories.
Carlson Gracie Costa Mesa offers classes from Monday to Saturday, presenting the Carlson Gracie method of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Nogi, Gi, and self-defense sessions for both children and adults. The school warmly welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels, with no prior experience required. As part of their commitment to continuous growth, Misitano plans to introduce additional classes in Muai Thai, boxing, judo, wrestling, women's-only sessions, and an eight-week beginner course.
The late Carlson Gracie, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu Grandmaster and formidable competitor during the 1950s through the 1970s, remains an influential figure in the realm of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. As the son of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu founder Carlos Gracie, Carlson's legacy continues to be revered as one of the most vital and influential practitioners in the discipline. Having trained many top competitors during his illustrious career, his indelible influence extends to some of the most prestigious MMA gyms worldwide.
Carlson Gracie Costa Mesa's state-of-the-art facility is conveniently located on the street level of Triangle Square at 1875 Newport Blvd., Suite 103A, in Costa Mesa. For further details and class registration, interested individuals can visit the official website at carlsongraciecostamesa.com or contact the school at 949.386.6424.
